January - March, 2017

*Volunteer - Garden at Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) Project in Central Arkansas (only 4 times during quarter due to inclement weather conditions).

*Tuesday, January 10 and March 14, 2017 - Attended a meeting of Conway County Hometown Health Coalition. The goal of the Coalition is to improve the health of the community in which we live. Location: Morrilton

*Thursday, March 9, 2017 - University of Arkansas @ Clinton School of Public Service “20th Anniversary of ARKids First”
In 1997, nearly one in four Arkansas children was uninsured. Twenty years later, we’ve reversed that trend in large parts to landmark legislation that created ARKids First. The discussion centered on the impact of this game-changing public health program for children. The history of the program was presented by local and national child health experts, including the Georgetown University Center for Children and
Families. Location: Little Rock

Attended a meeting of the Central Region Hometown Health Improvement Academy. The topics/discussions chosen to attend included: “School and Community Partnerships”, “Becoming a 501(c) 3”, and “Using Social Media”. Location: Little Rock


April - June, 2017

*Volunteer - Garden at Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) Project in Central Arkansas on weekly basis during each month.

*Wednesday, April 5, 2017 - Attended “Growing Healthy Arkansas” Conference. Location: Pine Bluff AR.
Focused on obesity prevention among children; promotion of produce at Farmers Market; educational connections for children’s education.

*Tuesday, April 11, May 8, June 13 - Attended a meeting of Conway County Hometown Health Coalition. The goal of the Coalition is to improve the health of the community in which we live.
Location: Morrilton, AR.

*May 16, May 30 and June 27, 2017 -  Delivered donations totaling 96 pounds of fresh produce from Everette Brown Farm to local food pantry.
Location: Plumerville (Conway County) Arkansas.

July - September, 2017

*Monday, July 24, 2017 - Attended Arkansas Coalition for Obesity Prevention Coalition Meeting. Location: Little Rock AR. Topics included: “The Built Environment” (walking trails, safe playgrounds) & the development of “Community Gardens.”

*Volunteer - Garden at Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) Project in Central Arkansas on weekly basis during each month.

*Tuesday, August 8, September 12, 2017 - Attended a meeting of Conway County Hometown Health Coalition. The goal of the Coalition is to improve the health of the community in which we live. Location: Morrilton, AR. The Coalition has begun to investigate grant funding sources for the development of a community garden.

*July, 2017 - Delivered donations totaling 106 pounds of fresh produce from Everette Brown Farm to local food pantry. Location: Plumerville (Conway County) Arkansas. Unfortunately, the pantry suspended operation beginning in August, 2017.
