“Small Family Farm Project”
Installment #8

January - March 2015
Weather, property clean-up, and earlier signs of Springs

There were 4 weather trends during the 3 months of January –March. These included sunshine, snow, sleet and rain. The challenge was to find times between all of the weather trends to complete projects around the farm.

There were 2 major accomplishments during the time period. The first was the plowing of gardening areas and adding fertilizers according to the results of the annual soil analysis by University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture. The second was clean-up of shrubs, trees, brush, and undergrowth that dominated the property. The following photos give an overview of scenes over the 3 month time frame.

By late March, 2015, signs of SPRING began to show as the Daffodils, Hyacinths and peach trees in bloom began to appear throughout the property.
